Calida was engaged by Prada Australia as the local Project Manager responsible for the delivery of the first Flagship store for their high end retail fashion label Miu Miu. The responsibilities included the engagement of all local consultants and contractors, the coordination of all Italian consultants and manufacturers’, ensuring the Studio Baciocchi design intent is achieved, achieving local compliance and approvals and financial management of the project.
The project consisted of a completely illuminated façade which involved the engineering input of ARUP Australia & Italy. Prada having previously built these facades all over the world wanted to refine and develop the design to incorporate a global standard for all of their stores. This involved close coordination with local and international engineering teams to refine the technical components of the design.
Calida has worked closely with Prada for several years to deliver various stores across Australia as client project manager.
The role generally involved the appointment of local consultants, coordination of design development between the local consultants and the Italian based architect, Studio Baciocchi. Calida undertook the process of obtaining all the necessary local approvals from councils and other authorities, tendering the works to contractors, and managing the delivery to achieve the high level of quality expected of Prada.
